Privacy Policy for WallAlert — Wallapop Tracker

Last updated: July 2, 2026

This privacy policy describes how the WallAlert — Wallapop Tracker Chrome extension ("the extension", "we", "our") handles data.

Summary

WallAlert lets users save custom Wallapop search trackers and checks in the background for new matching listings, sending a notification when one is found. The extension does not collect, sell, or transfer any personal user data to us or to any third party. All data used by the extension is stored locally on the user's device.

Data the extension uses

Authentication information (license key)
If a user activates a Plus or Premium plan, the extension stores the license key the user enters, along with the resulting plan tier, in the browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local). This data stays on the user's device and is used only to unlock the corresponding scan-interval features within the extension.

To validate a license key, the extension sends the entered key to a remote key list we maintain, in order to check whether it is valid and which tier it unlocks. No other information is included in this request.

Website content (Wallapop listing data)
To detect new listings matching a user's saved search trackers, the extension reads listing information (such as title, price, and link) from Wallapop search result pages loaded in a background browser tab. This data is used only to compare against previously seen listings and to display or notify the user of new matches. It is stored locally on the user's device and is not transmitted to us or any third party.

Search trackers and settings
Any search terms, price filters, and scan-interval settings the user configures are stored locally in chrome.storage.local so they persist between browser sessions. This information is not transmitted anywhere except as part of loading the relevant Wallapop search page, which is necessary for the extension's core function.

Data we do not collect

WallAlert does not collect, and has no access to:

How data is shared

We do not sell, rent, or transfer any user data to third parties. The only outbound network requests the extension makes are:

  1. To Wallapop's own servers/pages, to check for new listings (required for the extension's core function)
  2. To our license validation list, to confirm whether an entered license key is valid

Neither of these requests transmits personally identifiable information about the user.

Data retention and deletion

All data described above is stored locally in the user's browser via chrome.storage.local. Users can delete this data at any time by removing the extension from Chrome, which erases all locally stored trackers, settings, and license information.
